The Director's Corner
I wanted to thank everyone for the Christmas cards, and the hard work, long hours, and dedication in 2018! I appreciate you, your families, and the many sacrifices you make working in this challenging and meaningful field called corrections!
A new year starts tomorrow, and I hope it will be filled with blessings and memorable moments of joy! We have to remember that although we deal with “problems”, that most people are good. Not everyone has the skills needed to be successful, and not everyone uses their skills for good. We all make mistakes, but our mistakes don’t have to be our legacy if we do our best to make a difference going forward.
We have to do our best as a department to provide those in our custody with the skills to be successful, and each of us has a responsibility to be the best example possible….being respectful and kind to everyone. We have a responsibility to provide our staff with the training and skills needed to accomplish the work we do! Be a mentor to those less experienced and encourage all those around you including the ones who supervise and have to make difficult decisions!
Please know that you are appreciated, and please know that all the rules and policies are there to keep you safe! Don’t take short cuts, and let’s work to have zero injuries in 2019!
Happy New Year and thank you for your support in carrying out our mission!
